Cappella

Cappella formed in 1993 with Kelly Overett on vocals, Maurizio Colella producing, and Ettore Foti on keyboards. Their debut single 'Move It Up' became an international dance hit, setting the template for what followed. The group's early albums like 'U Got 2 Know' kept the momentum going with tracks such as 'U Got 2 Let The Music' and 'Move On Baby' that worked well on dancefloors.

Overett's vocal cord injury during a live performance forced a break, and the lineup shifted over time with various singers coming through. They kept releasing material through the mid-1990s including albums like 'War in Heaven' and the collaborative 'Cappella Vs. Galliano' project. The sound remained rooted in that upbeat Eurodance style they'd established early on.

Their catalog from that period, including songs like 'Tell Me The Way' and 'Turn It Up & Down', represents a particular moment in 1990s dance music. The production had that bright, synthetic energy that defined a lot of Eurodance at the time.
