Caracas formed in Caracas, Venezuela in the early 2000s with Oscar D' León on vocals and guitar, Jorge Calloni on bass, Miguel 'Miki' Jimenez on drums, and Roberto Quintero on keyboards. Their 2007 debut single 'Way Down' became a hit across Latin America and Europe, blending salsa and merengue with pop elements.
After 'Way Down,' the band continued releasing music through the 2010s, including albums like 'Una Noche' in 2009 and 'Sueños de Libertad' in 2012. Their sound incorporated various Latin rhythms, with songs like 'A Good Waste of Time' and 'Ballerina' showing their range beyond their initial hit.
In 2009, drummer Miki Jimenez left the group and was replaced by Daniel Landaeta. The lineup with D' León, Calloni, Quintero, and Landaeta remained stable through later releases like 'La Vida Buena' in 2016 and 'De Aquí Pa'lla' in 2019.
