Carlinhos Nova started playing guitar around age 10 in Santo Antônio do Monte, Minas Gerais, picking up the instrument from his father. His first album, 'Nas Mãos de Deus,' came out in 1999 and got him some attention in Brazil.
A few years later, in 2003, he released 'Seja o Que Deus Quizer,' which became his most recognizable song. It's a straightforward statement about faith that connected with listeners. Other songs like 'Mina de Ouro' and 'Porto de Galinhas' followed a similar pattern, mixing sertanejo with pop and gospel themes.
In 2007, there was some noise about a plagiarism accusation involving another track, 'Menina dos Olhos Castanhos.' It didn't seem to change much about how people heard his music.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
