Carlos Magno and Gabriel Cachorrão first met in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1970s. They formed a band called Cuba Lança, which also became the title of their debut album in 1982. That album included the song 'Cuba Lança' and helped establish their presence in Brazilian music.
Their music mixed samba and rock with traditional rhythms, and they sometimes addressed social and political topics in their lyrics.
Gabriel Cachorrão passed away in 2015. The duo's recordings include songs like 'Nossa Relação' alongside their more politically charged material.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
