Carlos Marques

Carlos Marques grew up in Brazil with the rhythms of the Pentecostal church around him. He sang at local churches before his 2015 single 'Sobre o Trono dos Céus' found an audience. That song, along with others like 'A melhor oração é amar' and 'Deixa Eu Te Amar', helped him reach listeners who responded to his straightforward approach to sacred music.

His recordings include traditional hymns and more contemporary arrangements, but he tends to work within a recognizable vocal style. The songs are mostly in Portuguese and deal directly with themes of faith and devotion.
