Carlos Marín was a Spanish baritone who became known internationally as a member of the vocal group Il Divo. He trained at London's Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, making his operatic debut in 1998. In 2003, he joined Il Divo alongside David Miller, Urs Bühler, and Sébastien Izambard.
With Il Divo, Marín performed on songs like "New York, New York" and "Bohemian Rhapsody." The group's debut album in 2004 reached number one in more than twenty countries. Marín's baritone voice became a recognizable part of their sound, which mixed classical and pop styles.
In 2018, Marín faced sexual harassment allegations that he denied. He took a break from Il Divo but later returned to the group. He continued performing with them until his death in 2021.
