Carlos Nobre is best known as the frontman of the Brazilian band Ciclone, which formed in 1997 with guitarist Rômulo Fróes, bassist Fábio Sá, and drummer Yuri Antunes. Their self-titled debut album came out in 1999, and the band's name became something of a calling card. Nobre's songs like 'Ciclone' and 'Contradizendo' often dealt with straightforward themes of love and social observation, delivered with a direct vocal style that fit the band's energetic approach.
In 2001, Rômulo Fróes left the band, and Alexandre Guedes joined as the new guitarist. Ciclone kept recording, putting out albums like 'Voando Alto' in 2002 and 'Acústico' in 2004. Their catalog includes later releases such as 'Quintal de Casa' (2007), 'Deserto Azul' (2014), and 'Tempestade' (2019). The band's work stayed grounded in accessible rock arrangements, with Nobre's writing providing the consistent center.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
