Carmelo Pagano grew up in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, where he started singing early, influenced by Neapolitan singers like Sergio Bruni and Nino D'Angelo. He formed a band called I Ragazzi della Via Aurea and played local festivals around Naples. In 2006, he put out his first album, Sotto un Cielo di Stelle, which mixed Neapolitan folk with pop.
His song L'amore Se Ne Va' came out in 2013 and became his biggest hit. It spent weeks at the top of the Italian charts and got attention outside Italy too. The rest of his career has had its ups and downs, but that song remains what most people know him for.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
