Carol Kidd

Carol Kidd started singing in the Scottish folk scene during the 1970s. She worked with guitarist Dave Swarbrick and bassist Ian Allison in a group called Carol Kidd & Friends, and their first album came out in 1974. A year later, her second album 'The Song of the Golden Eagle' included the song '(How Little It Matters) How Little We Know,' which became her best-known recording.

She kept making albums through the 1970s and 1980s, with titles like 'The Rose,' 'Restless,' and 'Wayfaring Stranger.' Her setlists often featured standards like 'All My Tomorrows' and 'I've Got You Under My Skin,' delivered with a clear, straightforward vocal style that felt more intimate than theatrical.

By the 1990s she was still performing, sometimes with the same core musicians, and released 'The Bonnie Lass of Fyvie' in 1991. There were occasional guest appearances, like Richard Thompson sitting in on guitar, but mostly it was the same small-band folk sound she'd been doing for years.
