Carox formed in Brazil around 2008, with Carol Biazin on vocals and songwriting, guitarist Pedro Telles, bassist Felipe Prata, and drummer Thiago Maranhão. Their debut album 'As Horas' came out in 2010, and the title track became a hit. The band's sound mixed indie pop with touches of jazz and bossa nova.
Over the next few years, the lineup shifted. Telles left in 2013, replaced by Lucas Vasconcelos. By 2016, Maranhão and Prata had also departed, and Biazin put Carox on hold. She revived the project in 2019 with new musicians including drummer Rafael Barata and bassist Felipe Pacheco.
Their second album 'Pecado de Querer' arrived in 2020, followed by 'Soy Tu Madre' in 2022. Songs like '20 Dias' and 'Coração' show the band's continued output. Carox has maintained a presence in Brazilian music through these recordings and live performances.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
