Casa de Presencia formed in 1997 in Mexico with Joel Martínez on vocals and guitar, Carlos Gómez on guitar, Aarón Jiménez on bass, and Germán Alcántara on drums. They started playing Christian music with limited resources, building a following through grassroots efforts.
Their debut album 'Cerca de Ti' came out in 2001, followed by 'Milagro' which helped establish them in Latin American Christian music circles. The song 'Hazlo Otra Vez' became particularly well-known during this period.
In 2005, there were some plagiarism accusations regarding 'Hazlo Otra Vez,' though these were eventually dismissed. The band kept recording and performing after that.
