Catch 22 came out of Keasbey, New Jersey, and put out their first album, 'Keasbey Nights,' in 1998. That record gave the band its name and a song that stuck around in their setlists. They followed it with 'Alone in a Crowd' the next year, and kept releasing albums into the 2000s, like 'Dinosaur Sounds' in 2003 and 'Permanent Midnight' in 2006.
Their shows sometimes got them in trouble for what they did onstage, and singer Thomas Stintson had a few public problems. In 2001, he was arrested after an incident with a security guard. The band lost their label deal around that time. They kept playing, though, and put out more records like 'Dislocation' in 2008.
You can hear some of what they were about in songs like 'So Cold' and '9mm & A Three Piece Suit.' They weren't a band that smoothed things over. The music was loud and direct, and it found its listeners without much polish or apology.
