Catherine formed in Sweden in 2007 with Lina Hansson on vocals, Peter Asplund on guitar, Anders Asplund on bass, Marcus Johansson on keyboards, and Fredrik Andersson on drums. They put out an album called 'DCLXVI' in 2012, which included songs like 'Is It Tomorrow Yet?' and 'Convertible.'
Some of their lyrics touched on occult themes, which drew criticism from certain religious groups at the time. The band's core members, Hansson, the Asplund brothers, and Johansson, stayed together through most of their active years.
Their music had a layered, atmospheric quality, with Hansson's voice floating over guitar lines and keyboard textures. They toured fairly regularly after that 2012 release, playing to audiences who connected with that particular sound.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
