Editor's note

Cavo, the St. Louis rock band that kept going

A hardworking group that formed in 1999 and put out records like 'Bright Nights, Dark Days' while touring with Aerosmith.

If you want to hear what they're about, try 'Beautiful' or 'Painful Art.' They're solid examples of the band's sound.

Cavo's music has a straightforward rock sound that connected with enough people to keep them touring for years. Songs like 'Beautiful' show their knack for melodic hooks over driving guitars. They built a following the old-fashioned way, playing shows and putting out albums even as members came and went.

They started in St. Louis in 1999 and released their debut 'Trashed' the next year. After some lineup changes, they kept making records through the 2000s, including 'Thick as Thieves' and 'Bright Nights, Dark Days.'
