CBGS was a music club in Manhattan's East Village that became known as a spot for punk bands in the 2000s. The band Muda-me formed there in 2005 with Bernardo Henriques on vocals, Miguel Costa and Pedro Gonçalves on guitars, João Alves on bass, and Diogo Costa on drums. They played a lot of shows in small venues around that time.
In 2009 they put out their first album, "Sangue no Olho," which got some attention in underground circles. They followed it with other albums like "Mau Olhado" in 2013 and "Noite Escura" in 2017. The song "Muda-me" is one people remember.
Their lyrics sometimes got them into trouble with local authorities, who tried to stop them from playing shows. But they kept putting out records anyway, with "Sempre a Crescer" coming in 2021 and "Novo Mundo" in 2023. The lineup stayed mostly the same over those years.
