CCES Flor da Mina do Andaraí is a samba school from the Andaraí neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. It formed in 2005, taking over from an earlier samba school in the area. The group's samba enredos, or parade theme songs, often focus on local history and culture, like 'Samba Enredo 2005 - Andira-Y' and 'Samba Enredo 2006 - O direito de ir e vir. Da aldeia do Andira-Y, da cadeirinha ao metrô eu também v'.
In 2010, the school had a notable moment with 'Samba Enredo 2010 - Vela', a song composed by Arlindo Cruz. That performance helped them win the Série A parade that year. Their later work includes songs like 'Samba Enredo 2013 - Flor da Mina, Cinco Décadas de Histórias Numa Trajetória Cheia de Glórias' and 'Samba Enredo 2020 - O Clamor de Mandela'.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
