The group's core included vocalist Zelma Davis and rapper Freedom Williams. Their sound aimed to blend house music grooves with pop melodies, creating tracks that worked on dance floors and radio.

Their debut album 'Gonna Make You Sweat' arrived in 1990, featuring the single 'Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)' which became a massive hit. Another track from that album, 'Things That Make You Go Hmmm...', also gained significant attention. The group's music was built around Davis's powerful soul vocals and Williams's rapping over Clivillés and Cole's production.

C+C Music Factory released several more albums in the early 1990s including 'Anything Goes!' in 1991 and a self-titled album in 1994. Their catalog includes songs like 'Do You Wanna Get Funky?', 'Here We Go', and 'Just a Touch Of Love'. Davis eventually left the group, and their commercial success waned as musical trends shifted through the decade.
