Celene Lima is a gospel singer from Bahia, Brazil. She started singing in church choirs as a child, influenced by her grandmother who was also a church singer. When she was 14, she joined the group Ministério Jovens da Verdade, which gave her early experience performing.
Her 2006 album 'Família No Altar de Deus' included the title track that became widely known in Brazilian gospel circles. Other songs like 'Apenas Um Minuto' and 'Nação Abençoada' also found audiences. She's released several albums since then, including Promessas in 2007 and Deus É Fiel in 2008.
In 2012, Lima had vocal cord surgery after an injury. She returned to performing afterward. She sometimes works with other musicians like keyboardist Juliano Son and bassist Emerson Pinheiro, though she performs primarily as a solo artist.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
