Celeste Carballo was born in Buenos Aires in 1956 and started making music in the late 1970s. She worked as a singer and songwriter, putting out albums like 'Me Voy a Reir' in 1982 and 'Mi Voz Renacerá' the following year. Some of her songs from this period include 'Todo Empieza' and 'Una Cancion Diferente'.
She recorded with other Argentine musicians at different points, including Litto Nebbia on guitar and Pedro Aznar on bass. In the 1990s she began working more with tango, releasing an album called 'Celeste Tango' in 1994. Later records like 'Es la Vida que Me Alcanza' from 2005 kept that blend going.
Carballo's writing often dealt with personal territory, as in tracks like 'Ahora estoy en libertad' and '5 y Vinte'. She was still recording in the 2010s, putting out 'Celeste Carballo y el Gordo Suyai' in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
