Celeste MC is a Portuguese hip-hop band that formed in Porto in 2004. Their original lineup included Bruno "Bin" Gonçalves, João "Phunkilla" Dias, and Diogo "Fury" Cunha. They've released four studio albums, starting with "Quem É o Dono da Verdade?" in 2009 and including "O Silêncio Vale Ouro" in 2012, "Faca nos Dentes" in 2015, and a collaboration with the Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto in 2018.
Their song "O Silêncio Vale Ouro" became something of an anthem for them, and other tracks like "Final de Semana" and "Reencontrar" show their style of blending traditional Portuguese music with hip-hop beats. The current lineup features Bruno "Bin" Gonçalves on vocals, João "Phunkilla" Dias on production and keyboards, Tiago "King" Gomes on drums, and Pedro "Panas" Vasconcelos on bass.
In 2019, their song "Mulheres do Sul" drew criticism for how it portrayed women from southern Portugal. The band defended the track as reflecting their own experiences.
