Celestial Blades formed in Seattle around 2010 as a four-piece heavy metal band. Their music leaned into progressive structures and cosmic themes, with Astra handling vocals and lyrics alongside Orion on drums, Zephyr on bass, and Luna on guitar.
In 2015 they released their debut album, also called 'Causal Wandering.' The title track stretched to nearly fifteen minutes, built around intricate arrangements and Astra's philosophical lyrics about cause and effect. It became a centerpiece of their early sets.
Other songs like 'Hymn To Victory' and 'Titanborn' followed a similar expansive, melodic approach. The band toured for a while after the album came out, but the existing record stops there.
