Celso Fonseca e Ronaldo Bastos

Celso Fonseca and Ronaldo Bastos began working together in the early 1990s. Fonseca played guitar and sang, while Bastos wrote lyrics. Their first album together, 'Deus e Eu,' came out in 1998. They kept making music for years, with albums like 'Oração' in 2001 and 'Livro' in 2015.

In 2011, Bastos was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Fonseca continued their partnership, finding ways to work with Bastos's poetic fragments. This led to their 2013 album 'Sorte,' which included the title track and songs like 'La Piu Bella del Mondo' and 'A Voz Do Tambor.'

Their music draws from bossa nova and samba, but it's often described as melancholic. Some critics have called it too sad, but it found an audience in Brazil. They won a Prêmio da Música Brasileira award at some point.

They released an acoustic album in 2017. Their songs include 'Febre,' 'A Noite É Meu Ópio,' and 'Bela.'
