Celso Landeros came from San Miguel el Alto in Jalisco, where his father played mariachi music. He started his own band, Los Landeros, in the 1960s, mixing mariachi with bolero and ranchera styles.
In 1973, he worked with composer José Alfredo Jiménez on the song "Ya Es de Madrugada," which became his most recognized track. Some of his other recordings include albums like La Mochila Azul from 1969 and El Centauro from 1978.
His band featured family members on trumpet, accordion, violin, and bass. Landeros sang and played guitar. In 2014, he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
