Celso Pixinga, born Celso de Souza, started making music in Rio de Janeiro. His 2007 debut album 'Sou do Soul (Táxi Lunar)' gave him his first real attention, with the title track becoming something people remembered.
That album title track shows what he does, it's got samba rhythms and soul feeling, with vocals that float over the groove. He's put out a few more records since then, like 'A Conexão' in 2010 and 'Pixinga' in 2020.
He works with a band that includes guitarist Daniel Jobim and drummer Bruno Wanderley. They play together in a way that doesn't stick to one style, pulling from jazz and funk as much as Brazilian sounds.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
