Celso Portiolli was born in São Paulo in 1967 and started as a comedian and television presenter before moving into music in the early 2000s. His debut album 'Portiolli in Pop' came out in 2002, followed by 'Amizades Virtuais' the next year. That song became his biggest hit, reaching the top of Brazilian charts with its take on online relationships.
He kept releasing albums through the mid-2000s, including 'Festa na Floresta' in 2004 and an acoustic set in 2005. Other songs like 'A Palavra Amigo' and 'Carrossel de Esperança' show his range from social commentary to lighter material. His music sometimes drew criticism for being too commercial, but he kept working with his particular mix of humor and pop sensibility.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
