Archive material and source history
Cerf, Mitiska & Jaren is a trio that came together in Berlin in the early 2010s. Vincent Chevalier, who goes by Cerf, had been working as a producer and DJ in house and techno. Marie-Amélie Brouard, known as Mitiska, sings, and Jan Erik Nordström, or Jaren, handles sound design and synthwave production.
Their track "Light the Skies (Retrobyte's Classic Electrobounce Mix)" got attention for its mix of synthwave and dance rhythms. They also released songs like "Another World," "Man On The Run," and "Witness" with Rank 1.
In 2016, there was some noise about their track "Euphoria" and claims it sounded like another artist's work. They said they'd drawn from various sources to make something original. The group's output slowed after that period.
