Cesar Vega

Cesar Vega came up in Barranquilla, a coastal city in Colombia, and started performing professionally in the 1980s. He's best known for "Hombre Casado," a song from 1985 that features Orquesta. The track became something of an anthem, though its straightforward lyrics about infidelity and married life also drew some criticism at the time.

His music pulls from vallenato, cumbia, and bolero rhythms. He recorded with his band, Cesar Vega y sus Campesinos, and occasionally worked with outside musicians like the Orquesta de Lucho Bermúdez. Other songs from that period include "El Cigarrito" from 1987 and "El Caminante" from 1990.

For a while, Vega kept putting out albums, like 1995's "La Reina de la Cumbia." His sound stayed rooted in those Colombian styles, and "Hombre Casado" remained the song people knew him by.
