Cestari

Cestari came together in Rio de Janeiro's Arpoador neighborhood, releasing their first album in 2009. The band included Bruno Cestari on vocals and guitar, Thiago Gonçalves on bass, Caio Prado on drums, and Marcelo Costa on keyboards. They followed that debut with three more records over the next several years, including 2016's 'Arpoador'.

Their sound drew some early criticism for being too experimental, but they kept at it. The track 'Arpoador' eventually became a radio staple in Brazil, capturing something of the coastal area's atmosphere. They also played shows outside the country, appearing at festivals and sharing bills with artists like Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil.
