Channel X formed in Los Angeles in the mid-1980s with Lexi Hayes on vocals, Jake Thompson on guitar, Marcus Williams on bass, and Alex Carter on drums. Their debut album 'Unleashed' came out in 1987, and its lead single 'Take It To The Top' became a hit that pushed them into the mainstream.
Alex Carter left the band in 1992 and was replaced by drummer Kyle Anderson. The group kept recording through the 1990s and into the 2000s, putting out albums like 'Revolution' in 1994 and 'Unbreakable' in 2000.
