Chansons Enfantines

Chansons Enfantines is a French ensemble that formed in the late 1990s, originally with Cécile Cau on vocals, Christophe Bertrand on guitar, Olivier Berthe on accordion, Matthieu Ferreyrolles on bass, and Antoine Lecuyer on drums. They work with traditional children's songs, giving them fresh arrangements that keep the simple melodies intact.

Their 2004 album "Alouette" included their version of that French folk song, which became widely known. They also recorded other familiar tunes like "À La Claire Fontaine," "Au Clair de La Lune," and "Ah! Les Crocodiles." Their performances often involve young audiences through singing and simple games.

While they're sometimes described as an educational group, their recordings mostly stick to the classic repertoire rather than creating much new material. The songs are straightforward, with clear vocals and light instrumental backing that doesn't overwhelm the melodies.
