Charles Billingsley

Charles Billingsley formed his first band as a teenager, naming it after the song he wrote called "For All He's Done." That track became an early signature piece for him, appearing on his 1999 debut album of the same name. His music draws from the hymns he grew up singing in church, giving his work a familiar, soulful quality that connects with listeners in contemporary Christian settings.

In 2005, Billingsley was involved in a car accident that killed his father and left him injured. He channeled that experience into his album "In His Hands" later that same year. Songs like "God of the Ages" and "Anchor For Your Soul" reflect the kind of straightforward, faith-based writing that has characterized much of his catalog.

He has worked with musicians including guitarist Brian Wooten, bassist Mark Nichols, drummer David Watts, and keyboardist Michael Mims. While his 2010 song "I Will Follow You" drew plagiarism accusations from another artist, Billingsley maintained his innocence and continued recording. His 2011 album "Hymns" revisited classic church songs with his own vocal approach.
