Charles e Novo Swingado came out of Salvador, Bahia in the early 1990s with a sound that mixed swing and samba. Their first album, 'Swing do Momento,' came out in 1995 and had the song 'Bilhetes' on it, which became a hit in Brazil.
They put out another album called 'Swing do Morro' in 1997. The band's lineup included Charles on vocals, Oziel on guitar, Betinho on drums, Ivan on bass, and Tico on keyboards. Other songs people know include 'Brigas de Casais' and 'É Você Que Eu Quero.'
