Y Simón le contestó:

para qué cuidarse tanto,
de una vez lo que sea tarde"
Cuando Simón llegó al baile
se derigió a la reunión.
Toditos le saludaron
como era hombre de honor.
Se dijeron los Martínez:
"cayó en las redes el león"
Como a las tres de la tarde
dio principio a la cuestión
cuando con pistola en mano
Andrés Vailo lo cazó,
Onésimo, su compadre
vilmente lo asesinó.
A los primeros balazos
Simón habló con violencia:
-"¡Andrés dame mi pistola,
no ves que esa es mi defensa!"
quiso cazar a Martínez.
Le falló la resitencia.
Como a los tres días de muerto
los Martínez fallecieron.
Decían en su novenario
