Chelsea formed in London in 1976 with Gene October on vocals, Billy Idol on guitar, Tony James on bass, and John Towe on drums. Their sound had a punk edge, and they put out their self-titled debut album the following year. That record included 'Blue Is The Colour,' a ballad that stuck around and got covered by other artists.
Idol left in 1978 to go solo, and October was out by 1982. The band kept recording through the early '80s, with albums like 'Evolution' and 'Underwraps.' Other songs in their catalog include 'No One Can Stop Us Now' and 'Pride of London.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
