Their debut album 'A Vida Ouve' came out in 1995, and its title track became something of an anthem in Brazil. The band's sound pulls from traditional Northeastern rhythms alongside jazz and folk elements, with César's lyrics often carrying social commentary.
They've released albums like 'Palavras ao Vento' in 1998, 'De Uns Tempos Pra Cá' in 2002, and 'Nosso' in 2005. Songs like 'Alma' and 'Malandro' show their mix of regional roots and broader musical interests.
Later records include 'Chico César e Carolina' from 2008, 'Silêncio' in 2012, and 'O Amor É Um Ato Revolucionário' in 2015. They put out 'Aos Vivos em São Paulo' in 2018. The current lineup adds Luis Nascimento on percussion to the original core members.
