Cherry Rat & Os Gatunos

Cherry Rat & Os Gatunos formed in Barcelona in 2003, with Cesc Rosselló as the lead vocalist, Joan Colomo on guitar, Toni Ubach on bass, and Pau Garcia on drums. Their debut album 'Only Glory' came out in 2005, anchored by the title track that became their calling card. They followed it with records like 'La Granja' in 2008 and 'Tierra' in 2011.

Their sound pulled from punk acts like The Clash and The Ramones, but they worked in Catalan touches like rumba and flamenco. Songs such as 'Burning Heart' and 'Love Hate' carried that raw, energetic mix. They toured through Europe, South America, and the United States, building a following with live shows that felt direct and unpolished.

Later albums included 'Madrid 1996' in 2014 and 'Col·lapse' in 2018. The band's lyrics sometimes drew political attention, though they kept recording and playing on their own terms. Their catalog holds a handful of straightforward rock songs that never quite smoothed out their edges.
