Chris Hordijk was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1970. He joined with Jimmy Stafford, Charlie Colin, and Scott Underwood to form Train in 1994. Their debut album came out in 1998 with the single 'Meet Virginia.'
In 2001, Train released their second album 'Drops of Jupiter.' The title track, which Hordijk co-wrote, became widely known. The next year, Hordijk had surgery to remove a benign tumor from his vocal cords.
Train has released nine studio albums. The band has faced some legal disputes over songwriting credits and royalties.
