Cidades & Satélites

Cidades & Satélites formed in São Paulo in 2008, with members Pedro Loureiro on vocals and guitar, Andréa Gaia on vocals and bass, Leo Baptista on guitar, and Rodrigo Ferrari on drums. They came together after the band Superguidis ended. Their first album, "Noite," came out in 2010, followed by "A Cidade e o Céu" in 2013, "Nosso Mundo" in 2017, and "O Último Romance" in 2022.

Their song "02h55" became something of a late-night anthem, though some listeners found it too melancholy. The band's sound pulls from post-punk and indie rock, with ambient touches. Tracks like "A Vida Inteira" and "Flávia" show their preference for introspective lyrics and layered arrangements.

Pedro Loureiro writes most of the material, with Andréa Gaia's bass and backing vocals forming a key part of the texture. Leo Baptista's guitar work tends toward the atmospheric, and Rodrigo Ferrari's drumming is often intricate rather than driving. They've worked with other artists occasionally, but the core four have stayed the same since the beginning.
