Cilla Black was born Priscilla White in Liverpool in 1943. She was singing at The Cavern Club in 1961 when Brian Epstein, who managed the Beatles, noticed her and signed her to Parlophone Records. Her debut single 'Love Of The Loved' made the UK top 10.
Her version of 'Alfie' in 1964 became her biggest hit, reaching number one in both the UK and US charts. Other songs like 'You're My World' and 'Anyone Who Had A Heart' also did well during that period.
She later moved into television, hosting popular shows like 'Blind Date' and 'Surprise! Surprise!' in the 1980s and 1990s. Her marriage to Bobby Willis in 1969 drew some public attention at the time.
