Cinema started in Monterrey in the early 2000s, a group of musicians who shared a love for their local football team, C.F. Monterrey. They wrote a song called "Locos Rayados" that quickly caught on with fans, becoming an unofficial anthem for the club. The track's straightforward melody and driving rhythm made it easy to sing along to at matches, and it stuck around as the team found success.

Beyond "Locos Rayados," Cinema put out other songs like "So Lost In Love" and "Tom y Jerry," though they never quite matched the same level of recognition. Their sound mixed rock and pop with some Mexican folk touches, which drew criticism from some purists who felt it wasn't traditional enough. The band kept at it anyway, playing shows and sticking to their own style.

They had a lineup that included Paco Padilla on vocals and guitar, Héctor Salinas on bass, Gera Garza on drums, and César Alvarado on keyboards. Their music, especially "Locos Rayados," remains a fixture for Monterrey supporters, a simple, earnest piece of fandom that outlasted any debates about their approach.
