C.J. & Co

C.J. & Co formed in 1982 around frontman Chris Jericho, with Jeff Scott on guitar, Dave Fabian on bass, and Steve Bolognese on drums. They came up playing hard rock with a confrontational edge, and their 1984 single "Devil's Gun" became their calling card. The song's aggressive beat and Jericho's raw delivery made it a radio staple that year, though its lyrics about war and society also drew criticism from some religious groups.

They followed up with albums like 1985's "The Exorcist" and 1987's "The Final Cut," which kept their sound in the same heavy, provocative lane. Another track, "We Got Our Own Thing," showed up in their catalog too. By the late '80s, their moment had largely passed, and they faded from the mainstream. The band resurfaced briefly in 2005 with an album called "Redemption," but that was more of a footnote than a comeback.
