Claiton e Bruno

Claiton Ferreira and Bruno Caliman started performing together in 1989 after growing up as friends in Salvador, Bahia. They worked local bars and small venues for several years before their self-titled debut album came out in 1995. That record included "Vem Ficar Comigo," a song that connected with listeners and gave the duo their first real break.

Claiton typically handled the songwriting and vocals, while Bruno played guitar. Their music leaned toward romantic themes, and "Vem Ficar Comigo" became their most recognizable track. In 1999, Caliman was injured in a motorcycle accident, which interrupted their work for a time. They also faced plagiarism claims around another song called "Refúgio," though a court eventually ruled in their favor.
