Claudinho e Nono were a Brazilian duo who started playing together in Rio de Janeiro around 1985. Their first album came out in 1990, featuring the song "Flor Que Não Se Cheira," which became a hit. They recorded several albums through the 1990s, including Coisa de Louco and Meninos do Subúrbio, with songs like "Água no Mel" and "Cowboy Sem Fronteira" among their popular tracks.
Their music mixed samba, funk, and pop with straightforward lyrics about everyday life. In 1995, Claudinho faced sexual assault allegations, which he denied, and the duo's activity slowed afterward. Claudinho was killed in 2002 during a robbery attempt.
Nono continued performing solo after his partner's death. The duo's songs, such as "Dia Especial" and "Viajando Em Saudade," remain familiar to many Brazilian listeners.
