Cláudio Barulho

Cláudio Barulho formed in the late 1990s around singer Cláudio Lacerda. Their song 'O Grande Orixá' criticized religious hypocrisy and drew protests from conservative groups. The band faced threats and censorship attempts, but they kept writing about inequality and political corruption without softening their message. Tracks like '1996 - Entre Negros e Brancos, Se Não É Índio, o Que É?' and 'África, Raízes Negras na Terra do Samba' continued this thread, making their music a rallying point for marginalized listeners.

They released albums including 'Raízes do Brasil' in 2005, 'O Grande Orixá' in 2009, and 'A Voz do Povo' in 2015. Their work appeared in films and TV shows, and they played major festivals, maintaining a presence through the 2010s with songs like 'Circo, Alegria e Amor' and 'No Esplendor da Noite'.
