Cleimar

Cleimar was a Brazilian band that formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1980s, led by vocalist and songwriter Claudio Willer. Their debut album 'Cleimar' came out in 1982 and included the song 'Ondas do Mar,' which became their most recognizable track. They followed it with albums like 'Alma do Brasil' in 1984 and 'Abracadabra' in 1986.

Their sound mixed Brazilian rhythms with pop arrangements, which some critics initially resisted. In the early 1990s, they faced plagiarism accusations related to 'Ondas do Mar,' though they were eventually cleared. The band's lineup stayed fairly consistent, with Cláudio Assis on guitar, Cesinha on bass, and Paulinho on drums alongside Willer.
