Clíar is an Irish folk ensemble with members including harpist and vocalist Sinéad Ní Mhaonaigh, guitarist and vocalist Pól Brennan, multi-instrumentalist Kevin Conneff, and vocalist and pianist Máire Brennan. Their 1996 album 'Sí Nighean Mo Ghaoil, An Nighean Donn Òg' features the title track, a traditional Gaelic song about lost love.
They followed that album with 'Anthem' in 1998 and 'Further in Time' in 2002. The group has sometimes drawn criticism from traditional music purists for blending contemporary elements with older Irish forms, but they've continued working within that space.
Their recordings include a 2005 compilation called 'This is Clíar' that collects material from their earlier releases. The ensemble has toured internationally, performing live sets that feature harp, fiddle, flute, and bodhrán alongside their vocal arrangements.
