Cocomelon

Cocomelon started as a YouTube channel called Itsy Bitsy Spider in 2006, created by Jay Jeon and his wife Jessica for their own children. They made simple animated videos of nursery rhymes and educational songs, with no particular plan for it to become a global phenomenon.

One of their early videos, "Finger Family," caught on with young viewers in a way they hadn't expected. The simple animation of finger puppets singing a repetitive, catchy tune became something toddlers wanted to watch over and over, eventually accumulating billions of views on YouTube.

From there, they kept making more of what worked, songs like "Hickory Dickory Dock," "Are You Sleeping (Brother John)," and "My Name Song" followed the same basic formula of bright animation, clear vocals, and repetitive melodies that young children find comforting and engaging. The channel grew into something families around the world recognized, though it remained essentially the same kind of content they'd started making for their own kids.
