Colors formed in Los Angeles around 2005 as a quartet. Their debut album 'Full Spectrum' came out in 2007, and they built a reputation through touring. The song 'Amos Lee' appeared on their 2009 album 'The Color of Tomorrow' and became their most recognized track.
In 2011, original lead singer and guitarist Jason Lytle left the band. Ryan Lerman took over on vocals and guitar. The group has continued to release albums, including 'Reflections' in 2012, 'Transient' in 2015, and 'Echoes of Silence' in 2018.
The band's lineup has included Jesse Johnson on bass, Norman Blake on drums, and Chris DeGarmo on keyboards. Their music often gets described as a mix of indie rock and folk, with some electronic touches.
