Comando Tiburón formed in 1996 in the Mataderos district of Buenos Aires. The original lineup included Walter "Chino" Herrera on vocals, Diego "El Ruso" De Paolo on guitar, Claudio "Chirola" Martínez on bass, and Martín "Pato" Farias on drums. They released their debut album in 1998, which helped establish them in Argentine rock.
Their song "Si Me Falta Tu Amor" became particularly well-known, appearing on their 1999 album of the same name. Other tracks like "Aquí Esperándote" and "Extrañándote" also circulated among their audience. The band put out several more albums over the following years, including "Sonido Tiburón" in 2001 and "Vivir" in 2005.
