Background notes

Archive material and source history

Combat Crisis formed in New York in the early 1980s with Dave Collins on vocals, Pete Dembrowski on guitar, Brian Lorraine on bass, and Mike Justian on drums. They put out three albums in the 1980s: 'Wolfpack' in 1985, 'All American Death Machine' in 1986, and 'Blind Justice' in 1988.

Their song '40 CCs' from that first record became a kind of anthem, though they were never comfortable with the thrash metal or hardcore labels people tried to pin on them. They preferred to just be called a punk band.

They broke up in 1990. The rest of their catalog includes songs like 'Beating Post,' 'Combat Crisis Music,' 'D.t.t.r.,' and 'Drink And Destroy.'
